Jennylyn speaks about breakup with Luis and being single parent

MANILA – Jennylyn Mercado recently opened up about her breakup with Luis Manzano and how she manages being a single mom to son Alex Jazz.

“Maybe because we’re not really meant for each other,” said Mercado referring to her breakup with Manzano during an interview.

She added, “I’m happy that he is now in a relationship. That’s life – you really have to be strong. I believe that the right time and moment will come for me to be in a relationship once again.”

Mercado and Manzano parted ways in October 2013 after being together for two years. Both did not share the reason behind their split.

The same month that they broke up, Mercado’s ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin separated from Filipino-British football player Phil Younghusband.

Manzano and Locsin admitted their relationship in February this year.

Since then, Mercado has been avoiding answering any questions about Manzano but wished him good luck about his plans of settling down with Locsin.

Locsin then responded by saying, “Thank you. Happy for you. I guess I have nothing more to say, but thank you.

”

Meanwhile, Mercado shared that she is now focusing all her attention on her six-year-old son with former boyfriend Patrick Garcia, Alex Jazz.

“I’d like to believe that I’m able to raise him well. I want him to grow up as someone who’s used to living a simple life,” said Mercado.

She also shared that Alex Jazz has started undergoing therapy because of speech delay.

She said that there have been improvements to her son.

When asked if she gets financial support from Garcia, Mercado said no.

But while the two remained estranged for some time, Mercado claimed that they have become amicable. As a matter of fact, she spent a day with Garcia’s fiancé together with their respective children.
