Cruz-Angeles contracts Covid-19; urges public to get boosted
MANILA – Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles has contracted the coronavirus, she announced Monday.
In a video posted on her official Facebook page, Cruz-Angeles said she underwent real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing on Sunday and her results came back positive.
“Kahapon nagpa-Covid swab test ako, RT-PCR at lumabas ang resulta kaninang umaga. Ako po ay positive for Covid. Kung kaya’t sa bahay muna ako magtatrabaho habang ako ay naka isolation (Yesterday, I had my swab test, RT-PCR and my results came out this morning. I am positive for Covid. Which is why I will be working from home while under isolation),” she said.
Cruz-Angeles said that she does not exhibit any symptoms, but will isolate as a precaution until her isolation period ends.
“Sa kabila po nito, tayo po ay asymptomatic at magpapatuloy tayo sa pagtatrabaho habang naka-isolate para maka-recover (Despite this, I am asymptomatic and will continue to work while under isolation),” she said in the caption of her video.
Asked if she has come in contact with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., she said the President is fine.
She also enjoined the public to get their Covid-19 booster shots to maintain protection against the disease.
“Kukunin ko na rin po itong pagkakataon na maghikayat na magpabakuna tayong lahat at magpa booster. ‘Yun lang po (I will also take this opportunity to encourage everyone to get their booster shots. That is all),” she added.
Cruz-Angeles heads the Office of the Press Secretary, which supervises the operations of state-run TV stations PTV-4 and IBC-13, radio station Radyo Pilipinas, and the Philippine News Agency.

Get well soon po. At kahit na mababa na ang case ng covid sa Pilipinas dapat ay sundin parin ang health protocols. 💙
