Ombudsman orders suspension of PNP Chief Purisima
MANILA — Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales has ordered the 6-month preventive suspension of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Alan Purisima on Thursday, December 4.
The suspension was ordered due to a complaint filed on October regarding the misuse of courier fees for firearm licenses.
The complaint was based on reportedly questionable dealings a private company called WERFAST Documentary Agency (WERFAST) in 2011.
The said complaint urged the Ombudsman to create a team to further investigate the matter.
The PNP Chief has been under scrutiny of late due to other allegations of corruption, including one of its alleged results–a mansion in Nueva Ecija.
Purisima is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia and will be back in Manila on December 8, Monday.
