MANILA – Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is still hoping that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will agree to a fight with him before either one of them retires.

During an interview, Pacquaio said that he is already fulfilled with his boxing career – which includes being the only boxer in history to win titles in eight different weight divisions. However, he still looks forward to the day wherein he will get to fight Mayweather.

“It will not hurt me because what I have done in boxing, I’m already satisfied,” said Pacquaio. “I think it’s more hurtful for the fans of boxing.”

He added, “The fans really want to see that fight.”

Pacquiao said that he has waited for many years for the fight to happen. But the decision is still up to the American fighter.

“I’m not closing my door to fight with him,” said Pacquiao. “As long as I’m still in boxing, and he’s still in boxing, there’s always a possibility to make the fight happen.”

He said that it is difficult to challenge Mayweather because “he’s always changing his mind.” He also added that he already agreed to all the demands which include drug testing.

“There is no problem on my side,” he stressed. “On our side, there is no problem.”

On the other hand, Mayweather advised Pacquiao to focus on his upcoming fight. The Filipino boxing icon is set to fight against Chris Algieri on November 22 at the Cotai Arena in Macau.

“You’re right, I have to focus on my upcoming fight,” said Pacquaio. “Focus on this one first, then think about the next fight.
