MANILA – Filipino peacekeepers’ first full day in quarantine on Caballo Island were spent sleeping and relaxing.

Returning from the Ebola virus-stricken Liberia, 133 Filipino peacekeepers were sent to the Caballo Island to undergo several days of quarantine.

Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc, Armed Forces of the Philippines public affairs office chief said the peacekeepers were also told to relax and rest following their long trip from Africa.

To give them a good rest, no activities were scheduled on their first day, according to Cabunoc.

“They have no scheduled activities today (Thursday)… they slept all day to regain their strength after their long flight from Liberia,” Cabunoc said.
