‘We’re not together anymore:’ Rabiya Mateo’s boyfriend confirms

Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo and her boyfriend, Neil Salvacion, are no longer together.

This was confirmed by Neil via Instagram story, saying, “The real thing is, we’re not together anymore, but we’re both okay, moving forward, we talked and we’re both happy with our own lives.”

He continued, “We both believe that God placed us in this kind of situation for a reason, and that is for the better.”

Rumors about their relationship sparked when some netizens noticed that Neil removed their photos on his Instagram feed. Amid breakup rumors, Rabiya was seen with former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Andre Brouillette, but the beauty queen debunked rumors linking her to Andre.

Neil also addressed those who spread rumors “without knowing the real story.”

“We don’t deserve all the negativities manifested towards us, esp[ecially] Rab. She worked hard to achieve whatever she has right now, and she deserves it all,” he said.

“It’s NEVER okay to degrade a person just to prove a point, I mean, if you have nothing good to say, it’s better to keep it within yourself,” he added.

He urged people to just “spread kindness and be respectful towards each other, may it be through thoughts, words, or deeds.”

This confirmation came after Rabiya said in a virtual interview with Boy Abunda that she and Neil were in a “complicated situation.”

In an ABS-CBN News interview, Rabiya said Neil was her first boyfriend and that they started dating during their college days.

Rabiya made it to the top 21 of the 69th Miss Universe pageant held in Florida, USA.
