Darren Espanto’s virtual ‘Home Run’ concert moved to June; singer exposed to COVID-19 positive individual
Singer Darren Espanto’s upcoming virtual concert has been rescheduled.
ABS-CBN Events announced on Friday, May 14, that it decided to postpone Darren’s concert, which was supposed to happen on May 30 at 8 p.m (Philippine time) with a re-run on May 31 at 10 a.m. (Philippine time).
This, after he was recently exposed to an individual who contracted coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Filipino-Canadian singer is now under self-quarantine, according to ABS-CBN Events.
“As a result, the show’s timeline will be adjusted including schedules of rehearsals, pre-production, and promotional activities, to ensure the safety and health of our artist and staff,” it said in a statement.
Concert tickets that were already sold will still be valid on the new dates, which will be on June 19, Saturday, at 8 p.m. (Philippine time) and a re-run on June 20, Sunday, at 10 a.m. (Philippine time) via KTX. ph, TFC IPTV, and iWantTFC.
“The Voice Kids Philippines” alumnus also posted the announcement on his social media accounts. His fans, meanwhile, commented on his posts, telling him to keep safe and healthy.
His digital comeback concert, to be directed by Paolo Valenciano, was announced in April. In an Instagram clip last month, Darren shared his preparations for the show.
“I’m going to be doing stuff in this concert that, you know, are close to my heart. Marami kaming prine-prepare na (We are preparing a lot of) prod numbers that kind of all related to my life, my journey in music,” Darren said.
Aside from the concert, the singer will also be releasing a new single on May 28.
In July 2020, Darren and singer-songwriter Jayda dropped their song collaboration, “Sana Tayo Na.” ABS-CBN said in its news release that it is “a lighthearted take on expecting that the stars would align and unite two people in love someday.”
