SB19 is one of Billboard Music Awards’ Top Social Artist finalists
“WE MADE IT, A’TIN!”
Yes, in all caps so we could feel the thrill tremendously!
P-pop boy group SB19 said those words after they were announced as one of the Top Social Artist finalists in the 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMA).
Pablo, Ken, Stell, Josh, and Justin are competing against renowned K-pop groups BTS, BLACKPINK, and Seventeen, as well as pop star Ariana Grande.
“We are so grateful for your love and support. We wouldn’t have come this far without all of you. A’TIN ‘TO!” SB19 tweeted, announcing its nomination in the category.
“Iwawagayway ang WATAWAT (We will be waving the flag)!” they added.
Billboard said the Top Social Artist is one of the fan-voted categories. Voting will open on May 10.
SB19 released their comeback single “What?” in March 2021. In the first episode of their YouTube docuseries titled, “SB19 What?: The Making Film,” the members said that the song talks about being proud of one’s self.
“‘Pag hindi mo kasi minahal ‘yung gawa mo, hindi mo maiaano sarili mo, hindi lalabas ‘yung tunay na potential or natatagong galing mo (If you do not love your work, you, yourself cannot… your true potential or your hidden talent won’t come out),” Pablo said in the video.
“Noong napakinggan ko siya, nabasa ko ‘yung lyrics, parang nagkaroon ako ng mataas na pag-asa na maabot ko pa lalo ‘yung mga gusto kong maabot sa buhay (When I heard and read the lyrics of the song, it felt like I had a higher chance to reach whatever I wanted to achieve in life),” Stell, meanwhile, said.
As of writing, the song’s music video has more than eight million views. They released the dance practice video for “What?” on Thursday.
