CANADA – Renowned Filipino pop songstress Joey Albert and acclaimed American composer Dennis Lambert recently shared the stage to raise funds for a local church in Coquitlam.

The artists showcased their talents for the benefit of the St. Clare of Assisi Parish in shows held in Abbotsford and Burnaby, British Columbia.

“This started as a fundraiser for St.

Clare and it seems we will pass our goal of $10,000 and, more than that, the full house was just so overwhelming and my heart is full. I don’t know what else to say,” Albert said.

Albert performed some of her all-time favorite OPM hits, such as “Tell Me”, “A Million Miles Away”, and “Iisa pa Lamang”,

She was joined onstage by guest singer and fellow-Filipino, Ray Ann Fuentes, who rendered a medley of OPM hits, as well.

Lambert, whose single “Of All the Things” hit it huge in Manila some decades ago, played several of his hits, chosen by Albert.

“I’m the one who knows which of his songs were famous among us Filipinos so I picked those songs. I only picked a few for me because I really wanted him to shine tonight, and having Ray Ann was a treat too because it really brought out the local talent here,” Albert said.

The audience was enthused by Lambert’s music; something of which he was very appreciative.

“I think the audience was great, so receptive, so warm and responsive to the songs and I thought Joey and Ray Ann were fantastic, and it was an honor for me to be on a show with them,” said Lambert.

This is not the first time that Albert and Lambert perform together, having put up a successful show last year in San Francisco to raise funds for victims of typhoon Haiyan.
