Ifugao clash leaves 3 soldiers hurt
MANILA – An encounter with suspected guerillas from the New People’s Army (NPA) in Ifugao left three soldiers wounded yesterday morning.
The encounter between the army and the suspected NPA members occurred at around 7 a.m. in Alfonso Lista town, Ifugao.
According to reports, the soldiers were conducting a community outreach program in the area when rebels started shooting at them.
The soldiers were identified to be coming from the Army’s 5th Infantry Division (ID) based in Isabela.
Meanwhile the rebels’ identity and their number is yet to be identified.
Reports also indicated that aside from the three wounded soldiers, government forces also suffered a fatality from the incident.
