Popular 2013 series, ‘My Husband’s Lover’ receives Int’l Emmy Awards nomination
MANILA, Philippines—The popular 2013 Filipino television show, “My Husband’s Lover” has been nominated by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for the International Emmy Awards in the Telenovela category.
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is a membership-based organization made up of leading media and entertainment figures across over 60 countries and 500 companies from all sectors of television including internet, mobile and technology. The organization gives the International Emmy Awards in recognition of excellence in shows produced outside of the United States.
Three other international shows have been nominated in the Telenovela category, namely: “30 Lives: Maxim Bouchard” from Canada, Belmonte” from Portugal, and “Precious Pearl” from Brazil.
This year’s prestigious awarding ceremony will be held on November 24 at the New York Hilton Hotel.
“My Husband’s Lover,” which starred Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez as the gay lovers and Carla Abellana as the wife, was produced and aired in 2013 by the GMA-7 Kapuso Network from June-October 2103.
The Filipino drama television series about a love triangle between a husband, his wife, and his gay lover was created and developed by Suzette Doctolero. The 94-episode series was recognized as the very first gay-themed series in Philippine television, and was a huge hit with audiences of all sexual orientations.
