Tito Sotto remains atop Pulse Asia senatorial bet poll

MANILA, Philippines – Pulse Asia senatorial bet poll showed on Monday that Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto persists as the top choice of voters, with 51.6 percent.

According to the latest Pulse Asia survey, Senator Sotto also had an awareness rating of 97 percent.

The senatorial poll was conducted on September 8 to 15 with 1,200 respondents, 18 years old and above.

Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan appeared second, with 51.5 percent.

Pangilinan outranked Sotto in a prior survey done last June 24 to July 2.

Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II with 47.6 percent, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. with 47.2 percent, and rehabilitation czar Panfilo Lacson with 47.1 percent were included in the top five.

Philippine Red Cross chairman Dick Gordon came at sixth place with 45.9 percent.

The seventh spot was bagged by Batangas Governor Vilma Santos with 44.5 percent, who previously dismissed rumors that she was seeking higher office. Senator Ralph Recto, her husband, followed closely after with 44.1 percent.

Senate President Franklin Drilon with 42.6 percent, former senators Juan Miguel Zubiri with 41.5 percent and Jamby Madrigal with 35.9 percent, and Senator Sergio Osmeña with 35.4 percent completed the top 12.

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima with 35.3 percent, Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao with 31.3 percent and former Akbayan Rep. Risa Hontiveros with 30.7 percent were at the 13th to 15th places.

The survey has ± 3% error margin at the 95% confidence level.
