PH logs 178 new Covid-19 recoveries
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) reported 178 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Friday, bringing the country’s total recoveries to 535,207 or 91.1 percent of all infections.
In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH also reported 3,045 new infections, with active cases now at 40,074 or 6.8 percent of all infections since the beginning of the pandemic.
Of the active cases, it said the majority at 89.7 percent are experiencing mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 5.6 percent, those in critical condition at two percent, those with severe symptoms at 1.9 percent, and those with moderate symptoms at 0.77 percent.
Out of the 32,120 Covid-19 tests administered on Thursday, it said 3,093 or 9.2 percent returned positive for the disease.
It also reported 19 new deaths, with total casualties now at 12,423 or 2.11 percent of all infections of Covid-19 in the country.
Meanwhile, many health facilities remain available in the country, including 1,900 intensive care unit beds at 60 percent availability, 13,500 isolation beds at 66 percent availability, 6,000 ward beds at 75 percent availability, and 2,000 ventilators at 78 percent availability.
