SWS survey reflects Pinoys’ trust in PH’s vaccination program

MANILA – Malacañang has welcomed the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing that six out of 10 Filipinos are willing to get inoculated once the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine becomes available.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday said the Palace is “pleased” with the results the SWS National Mobile Phone Survey conducted on Sept. 17-20, 2020, showing 66 percent of adult Filipinos are willing to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

“We view this as a positive development as this means that more Filipinos trust the current government’s vaccination program,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, he hoped that the number would further increase, noting that President Rodrigo Duterte “wants all Filipinos to get vaccines, with priority given to the poor, indigents and other vulnerable sectors”.

The SWS poll among 1,249 adult Filipinos nationwide showed 32 percent of the 66 percent who are willing to get the vaccine if it is available now said they “definitely would get the vaccine” while 34 percent indicated that they “probably would get the vaccine”.

Meanwhile, 31 percent of the respondents are unwilling to get inoculated, 14 percent of whom “probably would not get the vaccine” and 17 percent “definitely would not get the vaccine”.
