Hotel chains, set to expand in PH market by 2017
Travellers International Hotel Group is expanding its reach in Asia, and is poised to open two new luxury hotels – a 355-room Hilton and 390-room Sheraton – at Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Newport City. Target date of completion is sometime in the fourth quarter of 2017.
The Westin hotel chain is likewise eyeing the Philippine market, with plans of opening a 600-room hotel by 2018, at the Travellers group’s second integrated resort project, Bayshore City Resorts World.
“Sheraton and Hilton will be an exciting addition to Resorts World Manila, which we target to complete by the fourth quarter of 2017. And Bayshore City Resorts World, which will have a Westin, is expected to open by the fourth quarter of 2018,” Travellers president Kingson Sian said.
High-end hotel operator Okura, responsible for the Japanese luxury-hotel brand, likewise plans to open at the Bayshore complex.
Beefing-up its existing 5-year-old structure in the RWM complex, the Marriot Hotel will be adding a new wing with a 228-room capacity
Travellers said Monday that they are optimistic about the upcoming developments, especially since all the hotel operators with plans to open up shop in both RWM and Bayshore were recently cited by US business magazine Fortune and Travel+Leisure magazines for their top-notch loyalty programs.
