New building to ease parking woes in PNP headquarters
MANILA – In line with the Philippine National Police (PNP) efforts to decongest its camps nationwide through facilities development, a multi-level car park building in Camp Crame, Quezon City has been formally opened on Monday.
PNP chief, Gen. Camilo Cascolan led the inauguration of the building worth PHP153.71-million and bankrolled through the PNP Trust Receipts Fund, can accommodate 462 vehicles.
PNP spokesperson Col. Ysmael Yu, said the car park slots were opened to ease parking woes in PNP headquarters.
The structure was erected on the east perimeter of Camp Crame parallel to the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa).
Yu said a minimal fee would be charged to defray maintenance costs for the continuous operation of the parking building.
He added that another five-storey multi-purpose building and a car park project funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways is underway at the northwest corner of the 40-hectare PNP headquarters with 176 parking slots, 12 function halls, and concessionaire stalls.
