With more Filipinos, even celebrities, starting up their businesses as another way to earn income amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, actress Nadine Samonte took to Instagram to introduce her online food business.

Samonte shared that she is selling unsalted dried fishes, which they always have in their home because her daughter, Heather, also likes it especially danggit and dilis.

Sharing a few photos of her products, the “StarStruck” alumna said she sells sweet pusit and palad flakes in addition to danggit and dilis. She said when she first tried these dried fishes it was ‘super tasty.’

Lahat hindi maalat and fresh from Masbate pa talaga kaya malinamnam (All of these are not salty and fresh from Masbate that’s why these are really delicious),” she wrote in her post.

The actress is proud of her new business venture as she explained that people should use their resourcefulness to earn a living during this pandemic where most industries are not yet fully operational or are still closed. She also insisted that her food items are worthy to be tasted.

Hindi nakakahiya kasi masarap talaga (I’m not ashamed [to sell this] because it is really delicious),” she stressed.

With her dried fish business, the actress said her husband even gave her a title, the new “D&D” or “Danggit and Dilis” queen of the south.

After posting about this, many netizens became interested in Samonte’s food products so she decided to create another Instagram account, @driedfishes_nadinesamonte, where she will be taking orders and will be posting updates and prices.

“All of our dried fishes will be vacuum-sealed in 200grams lang po muna (for now),” she said.

“I will try to accommodate as much as I could but pls bare with me since I’m alone doing this hehe,” she added.
