Senior Citizens Party-list solon passes away

MANILA – Senior Citizens Party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. passed away on Monday, according to an official of the House of Representatives. He was 71.

House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales confirmed the news in a statement.

“It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Cong. Jun Datol passed away a few hours ago,” Montales said.

“May he rest in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones,” Montales added.

Montales, however, did not provide any other details regarding Datol’s death.

Datol chaired the House Committee on Senior Citizens, which focused on matters directly and principally relating to the needs and welfare of the elderly as well as policies and programs that will enhance their active participation in society.
