Ai Ai confirms relationship with 20-year-old athlete

MANILA – Pro-comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas has confirmed the rumours that she and 20-year-old Gerald Sibayan are indeed a couple. The two were spotted together on Saturday at a birthday party for director Wenn Deramas’

“Hindi ko hinanap ‘to talaga, hindi ko hinanap. Dumating na lang siya talaga sa buhay ko,” delas Alas said in an interview with local entertainment portal PEP.

Delas Alas did not disclose details of how she and Sibayan – a badminton player from De La Salle University – first met. She did say, however, that her children have expressed their support of the relationship.

“Mga anak ko naman, as long as happy ako, eh happy sila. … Huwag lang niya akong ‘anuhin,’ alam mo na yun,” delas Alas said, in reference to allegations of physical abuse against former husband Jed Salang.

When queried about the possibility of wedding bells, delas Alas emphatically said : “Ay, hindi! Waley, waley. Ayaw, ayaw. Okey na ‘yung ganyan… tahimik lang kami. Okey na mas bata, kesa naman sa may asawa. O, di ba naninira ng pamilya!”

“Ayaw ko nung matanda na may asawa. Pakikisamahan mo ‘yung nanay ng anak.

Ay, ano ba ‘yan? Tapos ipagsa-shopping mo ‘yung tatay.

Isha-shopping mo din ‘yung nanay. At least, yung ngayon, isang team lang. National pa, di ba? National at saka De La Salle… dalawang teams lang,” delas Alas added.
