Dog in Wuhan waits several days on bridge where his owner reportedly jumped off

As pet parents, it can be sad or guilt-filled whenever furbabies are left at home to attend classes or go to work, especially if they are giving us that “please don’t go” look. But as much as we want to take them with us whenever we leave, there will always be days that we have no choice but to keep them safe inside our homes and make them wait until we come home. Just so they could welcome us with a heartwarming greeting, our pets, having this crazy amount of patience, willingly wait for us no matter how late we arrive home or without assurance if we will still be able to come home.

This was what a dog has been doing on a bridge in Wuhan, China. The pooch was spotted sitting patiently on the pavement of Yangtze Bridge for several days, not knowing that his owner will never show up in front of him again. It was reported that the owner jumped off the bridge, leaving his dog to wait for him in the area in hopes that they will be together again.

Based on reports, a local, identified as Xu, found the dog at the bridge, staring at the river below it on June 5. He tried to help the dog by giving food and water, but the latter refused to accept it. Xu also tried to offer the dog a new home but it ran away from him and has not been found yet.

Wuhan Small Animal Protection Association (SAPA) Director Du Fan told Pear Video that they already asked authorities to check what exactly happened on the bridge, but they were not able to see things clearly as the surveillance footage was really dark. One thing is for sure, though, they saw a person “jump straight away.

“We spent the morning looking for the dog, but we couldn’t find it. If any local residents find it, please contact us. We would like to find it a new home,” Du said as quoted as saying by the media reports.

“It would be a pity for such a loyal dog to live on the streets as a stray,” he added.

The dog’s photos that went viral on social media broke the hearts of netizens, with many of them hope that it will be found and adopted soon.
