116 more Filipinos abroad recover from Covid-19

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Saturday reported 116 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries among Filipinos in the Americas and the Asia Pacific, bringing the number of recovered patients to 2,485.

“This one spike in reported recoveries brings the total number of Filipino nationals who have recovered to almost 2,500, which is 45 percent of the total confirmed cases,” the DFA said.

The overall Covid-19 tally is 5,519, with 29 new additional cases registered.

Based on the latest DFA data, the Middle East remains to have the highest recorded Covid-19 cases among Filipinos at 3,406, as well as the highest recoveries and total patients undergoing treatment at 1,880 and 1,379, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Americas still has the highest number of deaths at 160, followed by the Middle East at 147.
