Medialdea said Dizon was named deputy chief implementer of government’s response to Covid-19 in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s instruction.

He added that it was also meant to ensure the “continuous and effective delivery of public service” amid the crisis brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.”

“Please be informed that Mr. Vivencio B. Dizon, president and CEO of the Bases and Conversion Development Authority and Presidential Adviser for Flagship Program and Projects, is hereby designated as deputy chief implementer of the Philippines’ declared national policy against Covid-19, effective immediately,” the Palace memorandum read.

Apart from his new stint, Dizon currently serves as BCDA chief and Presidential Adviser for Flagship Program and Projects.

Dizon’s new designation mandates him to help Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. who concurrently serves as the chief implementer of the government’s Covid-19 response.

As the chief implementer, Galvez is tasked to ensure strict compliance and adherence of the public and private sectors to guidelines and protocols issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Galvez is also in charge of protecting and promoting the safety and welfare of the public at all times, as well as to ensure the efficient and expeditious distribution of government assistance to the public, especially citizens in most need.
