PH Covid-19 cases rise by 111; 39 new recoveries recorded

During a Covid-19 virtual presser, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire also reported 39 new recoveries and 9 new deaths.

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported 111 new persons infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 6,710.

During a Covid-19 virtual presser, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire also reported 39 new recoveries and 9 new deaths.

The total number of recovered cases nationwide is now at 693 while the death toll has climbed to 446.

Meron tayong 1,062 healthcare workers na nag positibo sa Covid-19 — 422 ay doctors, 386 ay nurses, 30 ay medical technologists, 21 ay radiologic technologists, 51 ay nursing assistants at may 152 na napabilang sa ibang serbisyo bilang health front-liners tulad ng (We have 1,062 health care workers who are positive for Covid-19 — 422 are doctors, 386 are nurses, 30 are medical technologists, 21 are radiologic technologists, 51 are nursing assistants and there are 152 who serve as front-liners like) administrative workforce and barangay health workers,” Vergeire said.

She added that about 26 of the health care workers have died from Covid-19 and 19 of them are doctors or physicians.
