Marcelito Pomoy places 3rd runner-up in America’s Got Talent

Filipino singer Marcelito Pomoy ends his journey on the renowned US talent show “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” by placing 3rd runner-up on Tuesday.

“He just wanted to say a thank you, thank you so much to everybody. This is a big, big opportunity for him,” says Joanne, his wife, who spoke for the speechless Marcelito, after joining him on stage.

Marcelito, who is known for his dual-voiced style in singing, sang both parts of “Beauty and the Beast” by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson for his final performance in the talent show which was aired the previous week, earning a standing ovation from the audience and three out of four judges.

“Marcelito, I love you so much,” Heidi Klum, one of the judges, said. “You have the most beautiful voice — I should actually say the most beautiful voices inside of you. You are a champion. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us.”

Mumbai-base dance crew V. Unbeatable was announced as the World Champion of America’s Got talent: The Champions, beating Duo Transcend for the coveted top spot.

America’s Got Talent: The Champions is a spin-off of the original talent show that brought together champions from past local and international Got Talent franchises.

Marcelito was the winner of Pilipinas Got Talent in 2011.
