MANILA – An Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) official cited the need for all troops to be united and decisive in all measures and actions aimed at securing the nation.

“I believe that the Philippine Army is at the forefront of our battle for peace and security. That is why it is imperative that we have our interoperability skills and strengthen the oneness and unity among our units,” AFP vice chief of staff Vice Admiral Gaudencio Collado said during his visit at the Philippine Army (PA) headquarters in Fort Bonifacio Taguig City on Monday.

Collado added that each major unit has its own distinct and equally significant role in achieving the overall mission of the AFP.

“We must be coordinated, decisive and united in all our actions for we are all fighting the same battle,” he added.

His visit aims to provide an avenue to coordinate and discuss the command’s current and future modernization efforts.

Collado and other ranking military officials were briefed by Army commander, Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto, on updates regarding its modernization program and activation process of new units, facilities, and equipment.

The briefing also mentioned PA’s constant efforts in the additional recruitment of troops on top of its yearly quota and its present status in the Army Transformation Roadmap.
