Marian needs ‘re-baptism’ from Catholic Church before getting married
MANILA — Now that Kapuso superstars Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are engaged and have picked a date, they’re on full swing when it comes to wedding preparations.
A wee bit of a snag on Marian’s end, though: She needs to be baptized again in the Catholic church before her wedding.
According to an interview with PEP.
ph, Marian was baptized in Spain where she was born. Apparently, this means that her christening is not recognized in the Philippines.
This was no problem at all with Marian–a devout Catholic–who decided to get “re-baptized” on September 8th, which also happens to be the Virgin Mary’s birthday. She wants to do the ceremony in a church in her hometown in Cavite.
For her wedding, Marian hopes that her dad Francisco Javier Gracia Alonso would fly all the way from Spain to walk her down the aisle.
She promised her fans that she’ll share as many details about her wedding as she can, including the chosen designer who will make her wedding gown.
Aside from all the wedding preparations, Marian keeps herself busy with her primetime dance show on GMA 7 and she is currently filming a movie with Vic Sotto for the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Dingdong and Marian are set to tie the knot on December 30 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.
