A building of Hotel Sogo in Malate, Manila collapsed on Monday, September 23, leaving several individuals injured.
As per reports, the building collapsed at around 9:30 a.m.
The Manila Public Information Office (MPIO), in a tweet, said emergency response units have been deployed to the area.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso was also at the scene to inspect. He had ordered the closure of Hotel Sogo Adriatico side after finding out that the hotel is “still accepting guests despite the collapse of the Mabini side building,” the MPIO said.

As of posting, the rescue operations are still ongoing on the collapsed site, while the Ospital ng Maynila Emergency Room is now in code red to receive patients from the hotel.
“Personnel from ER and OR (operating room) are all ready to take care of the patients,” the MPIO added.
