Michelle Dee is PH bet in Miss World 2019

It is none other than the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez who was chosen to represent the Philippines in the Miss World 2019 pageant.
On Sunday, September 15, Michelle Dee bagged the Miss World Philippines 2019 title at the coronation night held at Smart Araneta Coliseum, besting 39 other candidates.
She also won several special awards such as Miss Blue Water Spa, Miss Myra E, Miss Best Skin, and Miss Bench.
During the question and answer portion, Michelle was asked, “In this age of digital technology, what invention from the last century do you think should make a comeback?
“
To this, Michelle confidently answered, “If I were to choose one invention from the last century, it would probably be polaroid films. I’m an avid lover of art, I love photography and I love the kind of energy and feels that polaroids give me, just being able to lay everything out and go down memory lane is such a different feeling.
“
Michelle’s mom was also at the venue to show support on her daughter. Melanie told GMA News Online that she felt really nervous but nonetheless, she said she is not doubting her daughter.
“I’m glad that she’s ready and I’ve seen it. The only thing that I told her [was to] just pray. If it’s for you, God will give it to you,” Melanie said.
The newly crowned Miss World Philippines 2019 on Monday, September 16, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her family, friends, mentors, and supporters who, she said, believed in her since the beginning.
“I don’t think I’ll ever be the perfect queen but I promise to try my best and to continue to do so every day throughout my reign,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
She also did not forget to thank her fellow candidates, saying getting to know all of them “on a deeper level means so much to me.
“
“You guys have taught me so much throughout this journey and I really can’t thank you enough,” he continued.
Aside from Michelle, other winners include Miss Eco Philippines 2019 Kelley Day, Miss Multinational Philippines 2019 Isabelle de Leon, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019 Katrina Llegado, Miss Eco Teen Philippines 2019 Vanessa Mae Walters, and Miss Tourism Philippines 2019 Glyssa Leiann Perez.
Other titleholders were Shannon Christie Kerver as 1st princess and Casie Banks as 2nd princess.
The 69th Miss World pageant will be held on December 14 in London, United Kingdom.
