Erwan Heusasaff refused to zip his mouth as he shields his wife from criticisms thrown against her for her  role in the new film, “Just A Stranger.”

Erwan clapped back at Anne Curtis’s bashers, commenting on the latter’s Instagram post featuring a promotional poster of the movie where she and her co-star Marco Gumabao were pictured in an intimate position.

Some netizens find it uncomfortable because, they said, married people in real life should no longer take such a daring role. One netizen even went as far saying, “Bakit mga artista ganon noh? Kahit ba acting lang yan eh nahahawakan pa rin yung katawan nila. Kung may asawa na sila dapat asawa lang nila ang hahawak sa katawan nila. Ang nagagawa nga naman ng pera sa karangalan (Why are actors like that? Even though it is just an act, still, another person touches their body. If they already have a wife or husband, they should only be the ones who get to touch their partner’s body.

Look what money can do for glory).” On the other side, others were curious about what would Erwan’s reaction be once he sees the poster surprisingly, Erwan does not disappoint them.

Replying to what he describes as “hilarious” comments about his wife, Erwan said, “Last I checked, I’m the husband and I know how I feel (which is completely fine by the way, thanks for asking). So no need to throw around words like disrespect or dictate what a person should or shouldn’t do after getting married.”

“I’ve known my wife as an actress, since day 1 and I have the utmost admiration for what she does. End of story,” he continued.

Tied the knot in New Zealand last 2017, Erwan and Anne are about to mark their second wedding anniversary this November 12.

Erwan told the netizens that he does not feel any ‘awkwardness’ watching daring movies but it was they who make it awkward because of their negative comments. He also said he was actually the one who gave Anne ideas on how he thinks the story should be developed or portrayed.

“Most successful marriages I know are those where both parties kept their identity intact and grew as a couple,” Erwan said.

“Also, let’s not be sexist people, if this was a married guy actor doing love scenes, no one would have any issue with it,” he added.

Erwan’s response gained a lot of positive reaction from the public, with many of them taking a screenshot of his comment and sharing it on their social media accounts. Anne’s supporters also doused the fire ignited by her bashers on the comment section of her Instagram post.

Directed by Jason Paul Laxama, “Just A Stranger” follows the story of Mae (played by Anne), a married woman who gets into an affair with a man half of her age, Jericho (played by Marco), who also has a girlfriend. The two met each other when Mae took a vacation in Portugal. The movie hit theaters nationwide last Wednesday, August 21.

On Monday, the film held its premiere night but Erwan was nowhere to be seen. Anne, in a previous interview in “Magandang Buhay,” revealed that her husband did not want to be the center of attention when Anne’s intimate scene was shown on the screen.

“‘Pag premiere night, ‘di ba maraming hindi niya kakilala, so pinaka ayaw niya ‘yung kunwari may kissing scene or ano, lahat titingin sa kanya, titignan kung ano ‘yung reaction niya (When it is premiere night, many of those who attend are not familiar to him. So if there was a kissing scene or what, everyone will look at him to see his reaction),” the actress said.

“Ang gusto niya na lang, papanoorin niya na lang sa (What he wants is that he will watch its) regular screening with his own friends,” she added.

Although he was not around during the premiere night, Erwan has been very supportive of Anne’s film which he expressed through his social media posts and comments.
