MANILA — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Friday said it will investigate the allegations made on social media posts of the alleged prostitution inside its detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City.

In a statement sent to the Philippine News Agency (PNA), BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said it will probe the allegations, adding that they will be filing administrative cases against those who will be proven involved in the improper conduct.

“The Bureau will not tolerate malicious activities conducted in any of our offices,” the BI official added.

Sandoval said they will also investigate the reason behind the numerous posts on the Facebook account of a certain Yoj M. Eala.

“We will likewise be conducting an investigation on the motives of the series of posts of said Facebook account,” she added.

She noted that the facility is equipped with CCTV cameras that are being strictly monitored.

“Our detention center is peppered with CCTV cameras that can be remotely viewed in our national operations center,” she said.

“It is also located inside Camp Bagong Diwa, which is a highly secure and heavily guarded area,” Sandoval added.

According to the FB post, unlike regular visitors who go through strict frisking and body search, prostitutes or hookers– both Koreans and Filipinos– are not being subject to such procedures as they were also allowed to enter the men’s dorms and Koreans’ VIP rooms.

Korean hookers are also supposedly couriers of illegal drugs.

The posts also alleged that several BI officials are getting money from these illegal activities.
