Gary Valenciano beats cancer

Indeed, nothing can really beat the country’s one and only Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano — even cancer is no match for him.

Through a video he shared on his social media accounts on Thursday, July 4, the 54-year-old singer-songwriter sent good news to his fans across the globe, announcing that he is now free of cancer after he saw the results of his annual checkup.

It can be recalled that Gary underwent successful open-heart surgery in 2018 after he celebrated his 35th anniversary in show business with a concert. But just when he thought he can finally be at ease following the operation, life throws another obstacle to his way.

“It was May of last year that I was given a life-changing diagnosis of cancer in my right kidney. This was revealed to me as I was still healing from a bypass procedure done last May 6, 2018. A few weeks later on June 13, 2018, I underwent surgery to remove the cancer from my kidney,” he narrated.

The artist shared how God never left him as he faced the storms of his life, battling with type-1, then a bypass, and kidney cancer.

“A little over a year later, I’m still in awe at how God kept me on the palm of Jesus’ hand through it all. You know my friend? There really is no safer place to be… than His hands,” he said.

“I’m still here and he has been as faithful as ever. Indeed there is absolutely nothing impossible with God,” he continued.

Gary expressed his “deep, deep gratitude” to his family, doctors, relatives, friends, various churches, and millions of fans for supporting him and praying for his recovery.

“Those prayers have once again been answered,” he said, adding, “God is good.”

He also said in the caption of the video that “God bless you in ways that will simply make you see just how good He really is.”
