Edmonton Filipino Fiesta Celebrates Four Years and Growing Strong

Edmonton, AB – The Filipino Drives Edmonton Filipino Fiesta 2019 will be held this upcoming weekend at Borden Park.
“Our goal with the Fiesta is to bring together the city’s large Filipino community; to create an event and space where we could celebrate our culture with family and friends,” said organizing committee chair Tony Santiago. “We also want the larger public to join us – to learn more about our history, traditions and our ties to other cultures, and, of course, to enjoy Filipino food, arts and entertainment and our warm and welcoming hospitality.”
EDMONTON FILIPINO FIESTA is family-friendly and free admission.

Saturday, June 22
10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
2 p.m. – Official opening program parade

Sunday, June 23
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fiesta Stage features dozens of performances ranging from traditional to contemporary, all with an unmistakable Filipino flare. Enjoy vocalists, bands, dancers, choirs, comedians, martial arts, and more.

On Saturday, June 22, the Fiesta Stage welcomes a very special guest: Yeng Constantino, a renowned Filipino artist/ singer.

The Filipino Channel (international broadcast network) will be flying her in from the Philippines to perform for Edmonton fans!

Fiesta Family Zone welcomes families and kids of all ages for traditional lawn games, arts and crafts, bouncy castles and storytelling in both English and Tagalog. Be sure to check out Historya, a visual retelling of the Philippines’ history, as well as the intricate and ornate craftsmanship of dioramas and other arts created especially for this Fiesta.

Fiesta Marketplace – A dozen food vendors will offer an array of delicious Filipino favourites – from traditional to trendsetting. There will also be many businesses offering goods and services and prizes to Fiesta-goers, including special draws for bags of rice and a trip to the Philippines!
