Twenty-three-year-old Gazini Ganados from Talisay City, Cebu was officially crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2019 during the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Grand Coronation Night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao last Sunday, June 9.

Throughout the night, Gazini was hailed The Face of Binibini (also known as Miss Photogenic) and Best in Long Gown. For the Question and Answer portion, she was asked by ABS-CBN Integrated Events Head Bobby Barreiro, “If you win the crown tonight, what will you do to get more women in the workplace?” which she answered, “If I win the crown tonight, what I do is to promote my advocacy. My advocacy is for us women to fight for our rights and for the elderly women and for us to know that someone is loving us, someone is pushing us to whatever ambitions that we have.” She adds, “We will be able to rise from our decisions, to whatever dreams that we have, goals that we have, and we will achieve it because of those values, those wisdoms that they gave us.”

The Cebuana was passed the torch by her predecessor, Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray and will be attempting to follow in the steps of Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray as another Filipina Miss Universe in the prestigious international pageant that will be held in South Korea at the end of this year.

Prior to joining Binibining Pilipinas 2019, the five-foot-eight Tourism graduate from the University of San Jose-Recoletos also participated in Miss Cesafi 2016, Miss Bohol 2017, and Miss World Philippines 2014. She has also been working as a model under Origin Model Management.

Among the other winners of the night include Binibining Pilipinas International 2019 Bea Patricia Magtanong of Bataan, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2019 Emma Mary Tiglao of Pampanga, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2019 Samantha Lo of Cebu City, Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2019 Leren Mae Bautista of Laguna, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2019 Reesham Saeed of Maguindanao, Binibining Pilipinas 2019 First Runner-up Aya Abesamis of Pasig, and Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Second Runner-Up Samantha Bernardo of Palawan.
