Fourth impeachment complaint to be filed versus PNoy
MANILA –President Benigno Aquino III, already dealing with three impeachment complaints, faces yet another one; this time coming directly from ACT Teachers Rep. Antonio Tinio.
Tinio said in a statement: “We have strong evidence to show that Pres. Aquino is responsible for perpetuating Congressional pork despite the Supreme Court prohibition.
”
The first two impeachment complaints were filed with regard to the Disbursement Acceleration Program, while the third – which Tinio endorsed – dealt with what the complaint described as the “blatant sellout of Philippine sovereignty to the United States through the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA).”
For the fourth complaint, Tinio says this time he is “a direct complainant,” and that the grievance will be rooted in the allegation that Aquino violated his oath of office by allowing the continuation of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
According to Kabataan Party-list Rep.
Terry Ridon, who was involved with the filing of one of the complaints, said that there is a possibility that the Justice committee would receive the complaints on Monday or Tuesday this week.
On the other hand, Malacañang said that it is not perturbed by the impeachment proceedings against Aquino.
In a radio interview via station dzRB, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr, Coloma said: “Hindi po nababahala ang Pangulo doon sa mga proceedings na ‘yan dahil panatag naman po siya na wala siyang nagawang ano mang impeachable offense.”
