Farm owner charged after calves, sheep and goat found dead in Newfoundland
WINTERLAND, N.L.—RCMP have charged the owner of a Newfoundland farm after the discovery of eight dead animals.
Police were called to the scene in Winterland on the Burin Peninsula last month after receiving a complaint.
They say five calves, two sheep and a goat were found dead.
RCMP say the farm’s owner was arrested Tuesday and appeared in court on a criminal charge of animal cruelty and three charges under the Animal Health and Protection Act.
The 49-year-old man was released on conditions and is due back in court March 5.
