Metropac San Beda added another team to their list of victims, conquering Diliman College-Gerry’s Grill, 67-55, last Thursday, April 4 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig for the 2019 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Developmental League (D-League) game.

A total of 21 points was contributed by Clint Doliguez for the Movers off-the-bench, while teammate James Canlas had an all-around game at 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Evan Nelle delivered as well with 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Donald Tankoua had a near double-double at nine points and 12 rebounds. For the opposing side, Kevin Gandjeto provided Diliman-Gerry’s with 13 points and eight rebounds, with Paolo Balagtas chipping 12 points and Jeramer Cabanag adding ten, but it did not prevent the fall of their standings to only two wins and three losses.

The Movers were leading as much as 13 points early in the fourth quarter until Robbi Darang cut the lead to seven. Canlas and Nelle fired pack to eventually celebrate a 12-point victory.

Movers’ head coach Boyet Fernandez is proud of the leadership of his veterans, sharing in Filipino during the post-game interview, “Now, we’re playing more as a team. What I told them is that we don’t have our two leaders anymore to rely on, so they have to step up,” referring to the departure of Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon.

Because of this win, Metropac-San Beda now stands at a solo second place in the Foundation Group with a record of four wins and one loss. Their next game is at the same venue in Pasig against SMDC-National University on Thursday, April 11, while Diliman will try to redeem themselves on April 30 at the JCGSO Gym in Cubao against Wangs Basketball.
