To celebrate the 70 years of diplomatic ties between the Philippines and South Korea, artists from the Philippine and Korean entertainment industries will take center stage at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Thursday, March 7 for the ‘2019 K-Pop Friendship Concert.’

In the words of the ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Philippines, Han Dong-man, about the event, “Throughout this milestone year in Korea-Philippine relations, I aim to intensify the promotion of Korean culture in this country. As well, I intend to promote the Philippines and its culture among Koreans living here and in Korea. Hence, when we host cultural events in the Philippines, we strive to infuse them with Filipino elements or closely collaborate with local partners.”

This celebration, which is presented by Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, will welcome boy groups NCT Dream and Noir, while six-member group April will be visiting the Philippines for the first time as well. NCT is a band from SM entertainment, known for hits “Chewing Gum,” “My First and Last,” and “We Go Up.” On the other hand, April is most noted for their Female Rookie of the Year recognition during the 2016 Korean Entertainment Arts Award.

As for the Filipino side of the lineup, Silent Sanctuary is ready to serenade the crowd, while trio VinSuriChan, composed of Vince Igno, Dasuri Choi, and Phoi Chan, plans to amaze the audience with their dancing.

The event’s hosts are ABS-CBN I Do Grand Winner Kring Kim and It’s Showtime host Ryan Bang.

For those who are interested in the event, the organizers have officially announced that entrance is free and open to the public. Slots are limited and allotted during registration, but will be given away if the attendee is not at the venue before 5:30 pm as the show starts promptly at 6 pm.
