The boys are back: Jonas Brothers to release comeback single ‘Sucker’

The American rock band Jonas Brothers returning in the music scene will not be a ‘dream’ anymore for its fans with the group announcing the release of their comeback single.

The group, composing of Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas, revealed this on Thursday, February 28, as they posted a photo of their cover art on their Instagram account. “Sucker,” their newest song since they disbanded in October 2013, will be dropped on Friday midnight.

Rumors about their comeback floated in January 2018 after the band’s Instagram account was suddenly reactivated. More speculations even sparked when Ryan Liestman, one of the group’s backing musicians, posted a photo of him with the Jonas Brothers, along with a caption, “Family reunion.”

But Nick squashed such reports about their return in a previous interview with E! News, saying that they were not yet thinking of any reunion at that time.

“We hung out for a weekend all together then I guess our Instagram is restarted or reopened. But I can tell right now there’s no reunion planned, but I can never say never. You never know what’s going to happen,” he told E! News’ Ryan Seacrest.

It was in 2006 when the trio released their debut album It’s About Time, selling 67,000 copies in the United States (U.S.). A year after, the band dropped its second album, Jonas Brothers, which sold 1.9 million copies in America.

Meanwhile, their third album, A Little Bit Longer, and fourth album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, were released in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

After the band’s disbandment, both Joe and Nick continued their career in the entertainment industry. Joe made appearances in some television series such as Comedy Bang! Bang! in 2016 and Angie Tribeca in 2017. He also appeared in the movie Zoolander 2 and provided the voice for Kraken in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. Nick recently made headlines when he wedded Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra in December 2018.

Nick also released his second solo album Nick Jonas in 2014, where his hit single “Jealous” was included. In 2016, he launched another solo album titled Last Year Was Complicated, which the singer then said was inspired by a breakup.

Kevin, the oldest member of the group, appeared in reality television show The Apprentice in 2015 and founded a real-estate firm.
