The 12 teams for the upcoming 2019 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup excited fans nationwide as the players on their rosters participated in the league’s ESPN5 photoshoot last January 8 at Gold’s Gym in Sheridan Street, Mandaluyong City.

Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas said that he was “surprised with the quality of players [the brand] attracted,” stating, “With this, we are expecting very close games in every leg of the President’s Cup.” He added, “I would like to thank the team owners for going all-out this conference. For my part, I promise that the next conferences will be bigger.”

The Bataan Risers surprised their fans as they announced their team to be comprised of University of the East (UE) Red Warrior Alvin Pasaol and Ateneo Blue Eagle Anton Asistio, with Adamson Soaring Falcon Sean Manganti, and De La Salle Green Archer Santi Santillan allegedly invited to play for the team as well.

On the other hand, former Green archer Kib Montalbo will lead the Quezon City-Zark Jawbreakers, while ex-pros Ronjay Buenafe, Carlo Lastimosa, and Gabby Espinas will compose the Manila Stars.

Joshua Munzon and Taylor Statham will represent newly-formed club team Pasig Grindhouse Kings.

Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) stars will be representing their respective teams, like Valenzuela Classic team captain Paolo Hubalde continuing to wear his jersey, while Larry Muyang and Mike Ayonayon still representing San Juan Kinghts Go for Gold. Bacoor Striker star Gab Banal will continue to represent his Cavite-based squad, but he is joined by recently-graduated National University (NU) bulldog Matthew Aquino. Jondan Salvador is representing the Markinia Shoemasters, while Jay-R Taganas is loyal to the Bulacan Kuyas.

The Zamboanga Valientes were the most recent to announce their lineup, which includes San Beda Red Lion Rhayyan Amsali, and Zamboangeno homegrown talents “Tausug Hero” Das Esa, Jonathan Parreno, Grevani Rublico, Rino Berame, and Ferdinand Lusdoc. In the words of team owner Junnie Navarro, “It’s an honor and pride for our city to join this league, especially our fans from Zamboanga. They are really looking forward to watch our homegrown players play in a big league.”

The 2019 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup is still awaiting for the final rosters of Cebu and Davao Occidental.

The first season of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup begins on March 16 at the SM Megamall Event Center.
