Are you one of those busy heads who were not able to see  Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral in theaters? Well, fret not because this highly anticipated film is set to stream on Netflix this January 2019!

Sharing the good news to the world, the streaming giant announced that viewers can stream Jerrold Tarog’s film as many times as they want starting from January 26 next year.

Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, is a sequel to the 2015 Filipino historical biopic film Heneral Luna, which is already streaming on Netflix.

The film was shown in local cinemas last September, earning a lot of praises from the viewers. The audience gave positive reviews to the film, commending its cinematography, acting, and the story itself.

Learning about this development, several fans could not get a hold of themselves as they expressed their excitement on Twitter.

Twitter user @katsukiiie tweeted, “I was fascinated the moment I’ve heard that Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral will be on Netflix. Congrats to the cast and to the people behind that masterpiece.

Netizen @NaraNarayanabad, meanwhile, wrote, “Oyyy ha, di naman sa excited na akong mag New Year pero January 2019 kase ipapalabas na sa Netflix ‘yung Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (Hey, not that I’m excited for New Year but Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral will be shown on Netflix in January 2019).”

On the other hand, Twitter user @softdelpilar said he will be “begging” for a Netflix account just so he can stream the movie.

Same problem with netizen @Igtayag who has not yet subscribed to Netflix. But eager to watch the film, she said she plans to solve her problem by being a parasite on someone else’s Netflix account.

As it can be re-watched, netizen @karsuno, for his part, encouraged everyone to see Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral in support of Filipino movies.

Following the story of General Antonio Luna’s leadership of the Philippine Revolutionary Army, the 2018 sequel tackles the story of one of the youngest generals during the Philippine-American war, Gregorio “Goyo” del Pilar, who fought in the historic Battle of Tirad Pass.

The young general was played by Kapamilya star Paulo Avelino.
