She’s most known for her roles in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Camp Sawi, and 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, but actress, screenwriter, and film producer Krista Elyse Hidalgo Sullivan, aka Bela Padilla, is adding a new account to her resume – Tanduay’s 2019 Calendar Girl. The 27-year-old actress revealed the news during a press launch at the Movie Stars Cafe in Eton Centris last Thursday, November 22.

When talking about why Bela was selected, Marc Ngo, the brand’s manager talks about the ‘strength of heart’ mantra that Tanduay is promoting, stating, “We believe that in the coming year, having #TibayNgLoob is more important than ever: “#Tibay ng loob to pursue what you love, to stand for what you believe in, to push for positive change.” He elaborates on how Bela is unafraid to tell her story and to be bold in celebration of the liquor company’s 165th anniversary.

During the conference, Bela also shares her experience, stating in a mix of English and Filipino, “I feel like in the photoshoot that we made, there will be different photos for every month and all of those photos represent a part of my life. So there are some creative, some that are really girly, some that are strong, some that are independent. I feel like they all somehow represent me.” When asked about how she thinks her younger audience will respond to her new project, Bela replies, “What I do resonates to the millennials so I’m very careful with what I do, because I want them to see taking care of my life.”

Tanduay Rhum is a Philippine-produced brand of rum by Tanduay Distillers, Inc.owned by LT Group, Inc. Among Tanduay’s previous calendar girls include: Heart Evangelista, Katrina Halili, Carla Abellana, Bangs Garcia, Ehra Madrigal, Erich Gonzales, Iya Villania, Jennylyn Mercado, and KC Concepcion. During the press conference, Bela also mentions these previous girls as her motivation to “work out” before the shoot, because they’re “really sexy,” but adds, “I didn’t go like super out of my way because I feel like they chose me because of who I am right now. I try to stay as true as I am to myself.”
