The much-awaited Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather rematch is becoming more of a reality as the Filipino boxer signs with the American boxer’s manager Al Haymon in an “exclusive agreement” this past week.

In a press conference last Monday, October 22, Pacquiao shared that he’s “very excited about this new chapter in [his] career and is looking forward to a fresh start.”

The World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion, whose recent victory was last July 15 against Argentinian Lucas Matthysse, shared that his signing with Haymon isn’t limited to his own career, but the developing of careers of young talents in the industry through his company MP Promotions as well.

Pacquiao shared, “I’m reinvigorated by the prospects of bringing up new fighters under the MP Promotions banner. My team will work closely with Al Haymon for the remained of my career to deliver the most anticipated fights with the top PBC fighters.” For Manny, “Those are the fights the fans want to see” and the ones he wants to end his career with.

The head of MP Promotions, Joe Ramos, also told the media that “MP Promotions is very excited about this last phase of Senator Manny’s Hall of Fame Career.

” According to Ramos, “[MP Promotions] looks forward to launching this new relationship with Manny’s first world title defense,” acknowledging Sean Gibbons, legal counsel Tom Falgui, and Pacquiao’s aide Steve Jumalon “for their tireless efforts and invaluable advice.”

More than 20 years of Pacquiao’s career has been under Bob Arum, founder and CEO of Top Rank. During Fighthub TV in Las Vegas during the past weekend, Arum shared that he wishes the 39-year-old boxer “the best of luck,” adding that he’s “a tremendous warrior, and whatever he’s doing in the future, he deserves.”

As many await for Manny to execute the planning stages of his fight against Mayweather, the boxer-turned-politician has been spotted training for his next match, which is against Adrien Broner. As of now, Pacquiao shared that 90% of the details have been finalized with the match’s tentative date to be on January 12.
