Kisses Delavin is planning to live her childhood dream — to venture into the world of beauty contests.

The 19-year-old actress, in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Push, shared that since she was small, she really enjoyed competing in pageants.

“Gusto ko ulit mag-train dun dahil na-appreciate ko ‘yung training nila. Magaling sila dun. Kasi three years old ako nung first pageant ko sa preparatory school ko. Sobrang enjoy and ever since sabi ko, ‘Mommy gusto ko mag-pageant.’ So sumali ako sa mga pageants sa school (I want to train there again because I appreciated the way they handle their trainees. Because I joined my first pageant when I was three years old at my preparatory school. I really enjoyed and ever since, I tell my mom ‘Mommy, I want to joint pageants.’ So I joined several pageants in school),” Kisses said.

She recalled that her mom supported her and exerted a lot of effort just so she can join any beauty competition she wanted.

“‘Yung mama ko pa ‘yung pagod na pagod kasi ang dami kong gustong salihan. Sabi ng mommy ko, ‘O, sinalihan mo na lahat’ ganun (It was my mom who was really tired because I wanted to join many beauty contests. My mom told me ‘You joined all contest already’),” the actress shared.

Kisses said she already thought of what pageant she will be joining, but the former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate does not want to spill out details about it until she is all geared up to compete on the stage.

“Siguro kung ano ‘yung kinatatakutan ko ‘yun ‘yung sasalihan ko which is secret pa para walang spoiler (Maybe the competition that I’m afraid of joining will be the one I will join,  but it is still a secret so there will be no spoilers),” she said.

“I don’t have plans yet. Gusto ko lang na spontaneous lahat kung biglang maisipan ko. Halimbawa ‘yung jinoin ko na pageant sa Bicol is Miss Kaogma, na-decide ko mga next week na ‘yung screening and biglang sali na ako (I want everything to be spontaneous like it just crossed my mind. For example, the one that I joined in Bicol, Miss Kaogma; it’s screening was the following week already and I suddenly decided to enter in the competition). I’m more of the spontaneous type. I’ll take my time,” she added.

As someone who loves beauty contests, the actress is hyped up for the Philippines’ bet for this year’s Miss Universe pageant Catriona Gray.

“I’m so happy. Sinusubaybayan ko actually, inu-update ko sarili ko sa mga nanagyayari sa pageant world (I keep myself updated about the happenings in the pageant world),” Kisses said.

This is not the first time Kisses talked about her interest in joining such competition.

It was in June when Kisses said she was open to the idea of it in the future after she finishes her studies.

“Mahilig ako mag-pageant (I’m fond of competing in beauty pageants). My first pageant was when I was three years old. Since bata ako, mahilig na ako (Since I was a kid, I’m fond of it). So why not? Maybe in the future. I will just let life surprise me,” she earlier told ABS-CBN.

Before she joined PBB, the young star was crowned in two provincial pageants: Miss Kaogma and Miss Masbate.

After she was declared as the second big placer of the reality show, Kisses has since starred in various movies like Loving in Tandem and Walwal; and television shows such as Wansapanatym Presents: Amazing Ving and Ipaglaban Mo! (Groufie episode).

She has also received Gold and Platinum awards for her self-titled debut album that she launched in 2017.

Currently, Kisses is preparing for her latest television series, Playhouse, where she will be joined by Zanjoe Marudo, Angelica Panganiban, and Donny Pangilinan.
