Revilla, Napoles’ bail hearings to start next week
MANILA — The bail hearings which will determine whether or not temporary liberty should be given to Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. and the alleged pork scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles, is set to begin next week.
The hearings which will be held in Sandiganbayan’s First Division will be chaired by Associate Justice Efren dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz said the hearing will start with the prosecution’s presentation of witnesses on July 10 and will be held every Thursday.
As agreed by the ombudsman prosecutors and defense counsels, hearings are scheduled in the morning and the afternoon.
The two respondents earlier said, that they will not be leaving the country while their trial for plunder and graft is on going.
Revilla and Napoles were arraigned last June 26 along with other respondents.
