It looks like KZ Tandingan’s fight in the Chinese singing competition “Singer 2018” is not yet over, as she is set to make a comeback in its Breakout round.

KZ will return to the April 6 episode of the competition. As announced in KZ’s official Facebook page, the Filipina singer “will proudly sing” Freddie Aguilar’s masterpiece, “Anak.”

KZ has repeatedly emphasized her wish to sing the Mandarin version of the famed song when she was in the competition – and this much-awaited performance may be her key to be officially entered into the competition again.

Kasi (Because) aside from it’s one of the most beautiful OPM (Original Pinoy Music) [songs] ever written, sobrang sikat din kasi siya sa (it is really popular in) China so kung kakantahin ko man siya, lalo nilang maiintindihan kasi alam nila ang kanta (if I were to sing it, they will understand it better because they know the song),” she said in an interview with PUSH earlier this March.

And you know, it should make us proud that an OPM song that is really famous in another country that they had to translate it because they do not understand, right?)” KZ added.

KZ’s journey was cut short when she was eliminated on the ninth episode of the competition on March 16, after her rendition of Lorde’s “Royals.”

She returned the next episode for her farewell performance, singing the English-Mandarin version of “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth.

While KZ revealed that she will return for the wildcard episode of Singer 2018, no other details were disclosed.
