MANILA — Local carriers Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific (CEB) reminded their passengers to allow ample time for their flight schedules, especially this Holy Week when the influx of passengers is expected to increase.

Domestic-bound passengers are reminded to be at the airport two hours before flight departure, while international passengers are advised to be at the airport three hours before their flight schedule.

CEB said on Friday it would open its domestic check-in counters three hours before the scheduled time of departure, and four hours before the international flights.

It noted that all check-in counters would close 45 minutes before the flight schedule, except its counters in Dubai (one hour) and Shanghai (50 minutes).

In anticipation of the passenger influx, CEB said it would deploy roving check-in agents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals 3 and 4, and at all Philippine airports where it operates.

These agents, CEB said, would carry tablets, so they could remotely check in the passengers and assign seats.

Meanwhile, PAL reminded passengers that carry-on bags that exceed the allowed weight would be intercepted. Apart from the carry-on bag, PAL said passengers are also allowed to carry on board any two of the following items: small handbag, pocketbook, purse, overcoat, small camera, laptop, reading material.

The flag carrier also advised passengers to take note of their Minimum Connecting Time (MCT) if they are transferring terminals.

MCT depends on what terminal the passenger is arriving in and the terminal where the passenger is connecting to or departing from. Connecting time between NAIA terminals and between PAL and other airlines vary, from 45 minutes to three hours, depending on origin and destination, PAL said.
