CALGARY — One of the victims of Calgary’s worst mass murder has been awarded a posthumous degree by the University of Calgary.
Lawrence Hong was one of five young people stabbed to death at a house party in April.

Matthew de Grood is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Hong, Jordan Segura, Kaiti Perras, Josh Hunter and Zackariah Rathwell.

Hong, 28, would have graduated this week after completing his urban studies program at the university.
His family was given his Bachelor of Arts degree.

The university also granted a posthumous Bachelor of Commerce degree to Brett Wiese, who was stabbed to death at a house party in January 2013.
