MANILA – After several wins at this year’s MYX Music Awards, Gloc-9 is now up for more acclaim, having received the most nominations for the 27th Awit Awards.

The popular rapper received 12 nominations in various Awit categories, including album of the year for “Liham at Lihim,” song of the year for “Ang Parokya,” best music video and best rap recording.

He is also in the running for song of the year for his single, ”Magda” at the ongoing Yahoo Celebrity Awards.

Gloc already has some his fair share feathers in his artist’s cap. Last year, he received five Awit nominations,, with wins in three major categories: album, song and music video for his work on the album “MKNM.”

He was the most nominated artist of 2013, with his name appearing in various categories: best world music recording for his contribution in Joey Ayala’s song “Papel

and in the best alternative rock/alternative recording category for the election song “Kunwari” which he performed with Kamikazee and Wolfgang’s Manuel Legarda.

Sobra na naman po ang tuwa ko dahil mayroon na namang nakapansin sa aking pagpupunyagi (I am overjoyed, because people have yet again taken notice of my persistent efforts,)” Gloc-9 told Yahoo.

Mahalaga po sa akin ang mga awards lalo na po ang Awit Awards kasi ang nagbibigay po ng pagpapahalaga sa aking ginagawa ay mga kasamahan ko mismo sa industriyang ginagawalan ko (Awards, especially the Awit Awards are important to me, as those who give importance to my work are colleagues in the industry in which I am involved,)” he said.

On a more candid note, Gloc also admitted that awards help boost his popularity.

Ang awards po ay nagpapalawak ng aking popularidad at sa ganon dumarami ang opportunities to do shows and guestings (Awards help make me more popular, and because of that there is an increase in opportunities to do shows and guestings,)” he said.

But Gloc does not keep all the benefits of popularity to himself, and revealed that those who work with him also enjoy these benefits.

Mas regular ang kita nila para sa pamilya nila (As you may know, there are other who depend on me: my band, their families, our rodies, our van driver, and our promotions team. Of course, when my exposure increases through winning awards, we receive more work. The income of my team becomes more regular, and ” their families benefit from it,)” he said.
