MANILA — Rain or Shine Coach Yeng Guiao offers words of encouragement for boxing champ, Manny Pacquiao’s coaching career but added that Pacquiao must think twice in becoming a PBA player at the same time in the next season of the Philippine Basketball Association.

“Anybody with limited coaching experience can handle a team” said Guiao yesterday in a report published by the Manila Bulletin.

The coach also added that Pacquiao might be able to “stand in a middle of a huddle” appearing as though he is devising a play.

“At the same time, however, he can have his coaching assistants plan the actual strategy even as they listen to him talk and watch him explain the strategy.”

Pacquiao has declared earlier that he will be coaching the new PBA member Kia Motors, and that he will not be playing for the same team though he is open to the possibility in the future.

But Guiao warned Pacquiao of the difference in coaching and playing reminding him to think harder before deciding to play.

“Once you enter the court, you are on your own and with Pacquiao’s limited basketball experience at PBA level, the image that will appear might not be a pretty one,” Guiao said.
