MANILA — A crying Krista Miller faced the press on June 6, saying that her family was deeply hurt by the issues being thrown at her after she visited convicted drug lord Ricardo Camata at the Metropolitan Hospital on May 31, 2014.

(I will do everything to clear my name. If there’s anybody I don’t want to get hurt, it’s my family. If the issue is painful for me, it’s even more so for them.)

A CCTV footage of the hallway outside Camata’s hospital room showed Miller’s visit. The footage was released by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Since her involvement in the controversy, netizens definitely did not hold back — calling Miller s”escort girl” and “maduming babae” (filthy woman).

Hindi ako masamang babae,” says Miller. (I am not a bad woman.)

According to Miller’s statement prior to the press con, her visit was “purely business” in nature. She’s a part-time real estate agent and said she was planning on selling a condominium unit to the drug lord.

(That’s why I’m doing these things to clear everything in public. Other than being an actress, I have another job. I’m in the corporate world, I have a decent job. We can’t avoid it [the issue] since there was already a first controversy, so people are still connecting it to the past. As for me, I’m here to fix everything.)

Miller was referring to her involvement with award-winning actor Cesar Montano, reportedly the third party that caused Montano’s fall out with wife Sunshine Cruz.

Miller said that she is willing to cooperate with the DOJ if needed, but as of posting, she hasn’t received an invitation from DOJ. As far as she is concerned, Miller believes that she did not break any law upon her visit.

How did Miller and Camata meet?

It all started when Miller was invited to be a Reyna Elena in a Santa Cruzan inside the National Bilibid Prison.

(That’s where I met Mr. Camata. They told me he was ‘high profile’ so I thought I’d try to sell him a condo, and he was interested. The procession happened on May 2, and then the following day, I went back to offer him a condominium. After the procession, I went back twice to Bilibid. The fourth time was at the hospital.)

Miller also said that in all her meetings with Camata, she was accompanied by a talent agent she calls “Kuya Jeff” who serves a mediator.

In the end, Miller believes that the truth will be revealed.

(Whatever they’re throwing at me now, I believe the truth will come out. I’m not telling you to believe me, but I’m here saying the truth. It’s up to you if you’ll believe me or not. I am a decent woman and I have a decent job. I do everything to survive, I am working well because I don’t want to bring shame to my family.)
